FAMILY OF THREE STILL MISSING FOLLOWING VACATION DEPARTURE - THE BRIARWOOD GAZETTE

Local authorities continue to investigate the disappearance of the Mason family, who were last seen earlier this month following what was described as a planned two-week vacation. Shane Mason, 30, his wife Donna Mason, 36, and their three-year-old son Dylan were last observed on September 2 at the parking area of Rapid Creek Falls National Park. Concern was first raised on September 10, when Mr. Mason failed to report to work as scheduled. A welfare check conducted at the family residence later that day revealed no signs of recent activity. The home appeared undisturbed. Authorities formally declared the family missing on September 12. According to park surveillance footage, the family exited the park grounds at approximately 14:17 and returned to their vehicle a blue 1989 Dodge Caravan without visible signs of distress or coercion. The footage has been reviewed repeatedly by investigators. Where we can confirm that the Mason Family vehicle was observed departing the lot southbound along Highway 2. Says Briarwood police chief Terrance Merdan. There is nothing to suggest where they went. (Detective Fred Myer, lead investigator involved in the search stated) And nothing to suggest that they intended to go anywhere else. Investigators have not ruled out the possibility that the family may have voluntarily deviated from their intended travel route. However, officials confirm that no financial activity has been recorded since September 2, and no contact has been made with extended family or acquaintances. The surveillance footage remains the last confirmed record of the Mason family. The case remains open and there are no additional updates at this time. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. At this time.

"BABYSITTER AND CHILD MISSING AFTER VISIT TO LOCAL PARK" - THE WESTHAVEN REGISTER

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the disappearance of a local child and her babysitter, who were last seen earlier this week at a neighborhood park under circumstances that officials have described as unusual. Sharon Santiago, 19, and 7 year old Lilly Andrews were reported missing on June 14 after Lillys mother, Melissa Andrews, returned to her residence at approximately 5:10pm and found the home unoccupied. According to Ms. Andrews, a handwritten note was discovered inside the residence believed to have been left by Ms. Santiago, stating that she and Lilly had gone to the park and would return by 3:00pm. Police were contacted at approximately 5:20pm. Officers responding to the call proceeded to the park identified in the note, located several blocks from the Andrews residence.

Multiple individuals present at the park reported seeing a young woman matching Sharon Santiagos description between approximately 13:20 and 14:30. Witnesses consistently recalled the presence of a child accompanying her. Several witnesses also reported observing the pair walking toward the public restroom facility situated at the north end of the park. Both individuals were seen entering the women’s restroom. No witnesses reported seeing either individual exit. An unattended bicycle, later identified as belonging to Lilly Andrews, was found positioned near the entrance to the restroom facility.

Officers conducted a search of the interior shortly after arrival. Within the third stall, a purse and a set of keys were recovered and identified as the personal belongings of Ms. Santiago. Authorities reported no visible signs of struggle or disturbance within the facility. No evidence indicating forced entry or foul play was immediately observed. The restroom structure is described as having a single public entrance, with no accessible secondary exits. Police have not identified any means by which Sharon Santiago or Lilly Andrews could have left the structure without being observed.

As of this writing, no confirmed sightings of either Sharon Santiago or Lilly Andrews have been reported following their entry into the restroom. Officials have not provided further details regarding the investigation.

GAS STATION ATTENDANT MISSING AFTER OVERNIGHT SHIFT - THE RIDGEWAY SENTINEL

It was in the quiet, early hours of March 18 when Ashfield police were called to what would quickly become one of the most confounding incidents the town has seen in recent memory. The call came from an employee of Ashfield Fuel & Service (Store #02), who had arrived just before dawn to relieve the overnight attendant, Marcus Allen. Instead of a routine shift change, they found the store a ghost town and Marcus Allen no where in sight despite his vehicle and belongings being found on the property.

Surveillance footage later reviewed by investigators shows him going about his shift as expected. At approximately 03:02 a.m., he stands behind the counter. Five minutes later, at 03:07, he steps away and walks toward the rear of the store, entering an Employees Only storage room. It is the last time he is seen. For reasons that remain unexplained, the camera inside the storage room begins displaying static moments before Allen enters at precisely 03:06:41. Every other camera in and around the building continues to function normally throughout the night. None of them record Allen leaving.

By 05:45, when the morning employee arrived, more than two hours had passed. There were no signs of disturbance. No clear sign of how or why Allen might have left the premises. The storage room itself is small, enclosed, and without any secondary exits it offers no answers. As of writing this, the case remains open and is actively being pursued. Marcus Allens family still clings to hope.

YEAR LATER, QUESTIONS REMAIN IN DISAPPEARANCE OF LOCAL RUNNER - NORTHRIDGE TRIBUNE

It was just after dusk on March 12, 1989, when Jared Mercer set out for what was meant to be a routine evening jog. He never came back. Mercer, 42 at the time, was reported missing later that night by his spouse after failing to return home. Witnesses would later confirm seeing him enter the main trailhead of 12 Mile Coulee National Park at approximately 7:10 p.m. It is the last confirmed sighting of him.

The trail itself is not considered particularly dangerous. Regulars describe it as familiar, well-traveled—something easy to lose track of time on, but not something you get lost in. Three days later, on March 15, authorities conducted a search of the area surrounding the trail entrance. About half a mile in, they recovered a single item: Mercer’s left running shoe. Police later confirmed that there were no immediate signs of disturbance in the surrounding area. The following day, investigators returned with a K9 unit. The dog tracked Mercer’s scent from the location where the shoe had been recovered to a bench situated roughly 200 feet away. The trail ended there. No additional clothing was found. No footprints beyond that point were identified. No indication of where Mercer may have gone after reaching the bench was established.

On March 18, jurisdiction of the case was transferred to the Federal Bureau of Investigation where for over a year, the investigation remained active. Officials declined to comment on specific lines of inquiry, though sources at the time indicated that multiple search efforts and follow-ups had yielded no substantial leads. On May 2, 1990, the FBI formally classified the disappearance of Jared Mercer as a cold case, citing a lack of evidence and viable investigative direction. No further updates have been issued since. The bench where Mercer’s trail ended remains in place. Park visitors still pass it daily, often without noticing. There is nothing to mark the spot. Nothing to indicate that anything happened there at all. And yet, it is the last place anyone or anything has been able to follow him.

Anyone with information regarding the disappearance of Jared Mercer is asked to contact local authorities.

WOMAN VANISHES FROM APARTMENT AFTER RETURNING HOME - THE DUNHAVEN OBSERVER

On the evening of November 19, the 29-year-old office worker left her job at approximately 5:15 p.m. and took a taxi back to her apartment, as she had done many times before. The driver would later recall nothing unusual about the trip. At approximately 6:10p.m he watched her step out of the vehicle, cross the short stretch of pavement, and enter the building. It is the last confirmed sighting of Alina Kovac.

By 8:00 a.m. on November 20, coworkers had begun attempting to reach her. Calls went unanswered. By late afternoon, concern gave way to action. At 4:30 p.m., a welfare check was requested.

At 5:47 p.m., officers arrived and entered the apartment. Those first on scene would later describe a smell coming from inside. Upon entering Alina Kovacs apartment officer noted no immediate signs of forced entry. No indication of a struggle. The apartment appeared, in most respects, undisturbed. Personal belongings remained in place. Nothing of obvious value had been taken. Yet Alina Kovac was nowhere to be seen.

Residents of the building have reported little out of the ordinary. No disturbances were noted. No unfamiliar individuals were observed entering or leaving the premises during the relevant period. The apartment has since been sealed. For those who knew her, the details offer little comfort.

MAN DISAPPEARS INSIDE DOWNTOWN PARKADE, LEAVES NO TRACE - THE CHESTER SUN

In a place defined by concrete, angles, and routine, the disappearance of Lucas Leung has left investigators with little more than a sequence of recorded moments and no clear ending.

Lucas Leung, 42, was last seen on the evening of January 11 inside a downtown parking structure, where surveillance cameras captured his arrival and movements with unusual clarity. At approximately 5:34 p.m., footage shows Leung pulling into the third level of the parkade and exiting his vehicle. He closes the door behind him, pauses briefly, then begins walking toward the nearby stairwell. There is nothing in the footage to suggest distress. Lucas Leung simply enters the stairwell and does not return

In the days that followed, Lucas Leungs vehicle remained where it had been parked. It wasn’t until January 14 that a parking enforcement employee, noting the vehicles extended presence and promptly contacted authorities. The vehicle was found to be unlocked. Inside, they found Leung’s wallet and keys and no evidence to suggest where he might have gone after stepping away from the car.

Investigators have since reviewed all available surveillance footage from the structure and surrounding area. None of it shows Leung exiting the stairwell, the building, or the immediate vicinity. There are no confirmed sightings beyond the moment he passed through the door.

On January 15, Lucas Leung was officially declared missing.
